Our very first Cellos at Belle Serre Abroad mini course held at the end of November was a resounding success. Belle Serre in Amsterdam was superbly hosted by cellist Willemijn Knödler; we had three days of cello lessons (what a treat for me to teach a great ‘bundle’ of Beethoven, Bach, Ligeti and Garth) and practice in great company, relaxing over delicious meals cooked by Willemijn, and of course, seeing some of the beautiful sights of the city on a canal cruise was a must: –
The suggestions for locations for future Mini Cellos at Belle Serre Abroad courses have been just as mouth-watering: Japan, New Zealand, and slightly closer to home, Bilbao, London, Sussex and Cambridge. I can’t wait!
Meanwhile, while it’s wintry and cold here in the south of France, bookings are open for next summer’s courses at Belle Serre, with the promise of summer heat and sunshine to go with your week of cello immersion – master classes, chamber music, cello clinic, baroque days and improvisation workshops…and much much more.
Visit the Cellos at Belle Serre site for full details and booking forms in English and in French.
