FAQ & Practical information


The cost of intensive individual study visits is £320/€350 per day full board.

The cost of short courses are priced according to the duration of the course and the number of participants. Accommodation is either full board, non-resident (lunches included) or camping at Belle Serre (including all meals, tuition and use of facilities). Non-playing guests sharing a room with their partner are welcome to join us – price on application.


Accommodation is in single or shared double rooms with ensuite or adjoining bathrooms. There is a limited number of single rooms available. Please state when booking if you are prepared to share if no single rooms are available.

How will I know if my reservation has been confirmed?

Reservations are confirmed by e mail upon receipt of the completed CBS Booking Form and acceptance of the CBS Terms and Conditions, along with a non-refundable €300/£270 deposit. The booking form and payment information (payment in euros or pounds sterling) will be sent to you by e mail. The balance of the fees are due at least one month before the course start date.

Can’t bring your cello?

There are two cellos available for hire (€100/£90) for those of you who would prefer to travel without an instrument, one of them a fine copy of a 1693 Francesco Ruggieri cello, made in 2002 by Marc Soubeyran, the other an 1820s English cello.

Want to come with your chamber group?

Why not book a few days of intensive cello ensemble playing with your friends or chamber music tuition with your group (piano trio, string trio, string quartet etc) with Lowri at Belle Serre during the year?

In the last couple of years Lowri has welcomed students, amateur and professional, from Japan, France, Mexico, the USA, Spain, the UK, Ireland, Italy, Sweden and from Australia and Singapore.
