Cellos at Belle Serre is perhaps unique in offering what we call cello-holidays, an opportunity to visit the south of France for a few days and to immerse yourself in cello playing.
Lowri Blake welcomes cellists of all ages and abilities for individual tuition, and groups for chamber music coaching.
Students come from all over the world, usually booking two to four days of lessons; some are cellists about to enter the music profession as performers and teachers, while others are keen amateurs looking to develop their technical skills and musical imagination.
Lowri also works with many cellists who have recently taken up the cello as adults, or have come back to playing again after a break, having played as teenagers but gone on to work in other fields – it’s never too late to enjoy learning the cello!
An individual intensive study visit includes three hours of lessons each day, with time to practise and to consolidate work done in the lessons, or to play duets and practise some sight-reading with Lowri. Each visit is tailored to suit your needs. Guests can book additional lessons, or simply take time to enjoy Castres and the surrounding countryside. Whether you are looking for a single lesson or for an intensive few days of tuition, contact Lowri to discuss the best options for you and she will help you plan your lessons to suit your individual needs.
Fees for an individual intensive study visit: €350/£320 per day (includes three hours of lessons, overnight accommodation and meals)
Additional lessons can be booked at 100 euros per hour.
A pianist is available to accompany individual lessons as required – availability and fees on application.
Lessons are also available via Skype: if you don’t have time to travel, but would like tuition, contact Lowri to arrange a session via the internet, and for prices and availabilty.
