Belle Serre, home of international cellist Lowri Blake, offers an idyllic setting for Cellos at Belle Serre courses 2019. Set in five acres of gardens and woodland, with magnificent views of the Montagne Noire, Belle Serre offers an idyllic environment for intensive study in south-west France, with cellist Lowri Blake. Lowri offers daily individual and group tuition in an informal atmosphere.
After nine glorious summers with wonderful groups of cellists, we are taking a summer sabbatical, which means that there won’t be courses in July and August of 2019. But, it’s ‘business as usual’ for the rest of the year when I’ll be focusing on intensive study visits (for one or more cellists) and short courses of up to five nights duration (for a group of cellists and also for small chamber groups). Bookings are already coming in for individual cellists and small groups from the UK, Switzerland and Holland for lessons next spring.
If you are interested in either a study visit or a short course, please contact me via this site and we can discuss possible dates and the format of your course; I create bespoke courses for groups of friends, either just for you and your friends, or otherwise teaming you up with other cellists of a similar level of experience and creating a course for you together. It could be with your local cellist friends, with your regular chamber group (piano trio, string quartet etc) or with friends you have met here on courses at Belle Serre.
Short course duration: from two nights up to five nights.
Arrivals from 18.00 on the first day, departures by 10.00 on the last day of your study visit or short course.

The CBS ‘Shorts’ – courses for cello groups and for chamber music groups
A varied daily schedule for cellists will include individual tuition, duo repertoire with superb resident pianists, group technical workouts and ensemble playing, cello duets to octets and discussions about all aspects of cello playing. Chamber groups can opt for individual tuition as well as daily chamber music coaching. The aim is to study hard in a house party setting, with time to relax too, basking in the sunshine around the pool or taking long shady walks in the surrounding countryside.
You can plan visits to Castres, Albi, the Sidobre national park, Hautpoul, the hilltop medieval village near Mazamet, Lautrec, renowned for its restored windmill and pink garlic, or simply relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Belle Serre.
You can book a short course from two nights up to five nights. Do contact us to reserve your place as soon as possible.
